HAMPTON, GA -- Kevin harvick certainly remebers that faitful day when he had heard that Dale Earnhardt passed away.

Then he got the call that would change his career.

Richard Childress would put Kevin Harvick in the number 29 Goodwrench Monte Carlo for one race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

It would be Harvick's first Winston Cup start in a car that has raced over 15 years.

On the last lap, Gordon first, Harvick second, Kevin Harvick got a great bite coming out of turn 3 and popped it outside of Jeff Gordon.

Harvick would win the race by 0.66 seconds. It wasn't just a race for Harvick, it was more like a dream.

With heavy hearts going into this weekends race at Atlanta, Kevin Harvick will lead the Winston Cup there in the points standings.
